9 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting My Time at Sandrock

If you are a veteran of the My Time series, like me, you should know that you can extend the lengths of your days, organize your storage, buy items on green market prices days, and sell items on red market prices days. So, in this video, I will strictly tell you things I wish I had known before Starting My Time at Sandrock

Thank you Pathea for the game keys.

1. Glitch fix

Right off the bat, I came across a glitch with an assembly build. No matter how many times I retrieved and rebuilt my items, I couldn’t pick up the build. To fix this, you need to save it and reload your game. If I would have known that, I wouldn’t have wasted time trying to find the solution. Interestingly enough this only happened to me on the Steam version, not the console version.

2. Trash in My Time at Sandrock

Trash and scraps are everywhere in My Time at Sandrock. This game focuses heavily on recycling. Be sure to pick up trash and scraps that you find lying around. Not only do you get items from the garbage but it is also an achievement.

3-4. Outfits

In My Time at Sandrock, you no longer have to choose between looks or high stats for your character. Once you equip your character, you can change the way your character looks by going to the outfit tab and you can choose what your character wears without it affecting your stats. Just make sure you press y to apply the outfit.

Also, the clothes do not need to be in your inventory to use in your outfit. Just leave them in your storage. I was originally carrying all the clothes around and knowing this has saved so much space.

5. Dispatching

If you have the Monster Whisper DLC for My Time at Sandrock, you can instantly get a pet as soon as you start the game. The pets are great for dispatching, especially for water. Water is hard to come by at the beginning of the game, and it is needed to run all your equipment. They also tend to find dew and different types of bait for fishing. Scorpsters are a type of bait that are also great gifts for X and many of the other animals in the game. Make sure you catch one as quickly as you can.

If you do not have the Monster Whipser DLC, you can befriend the stray cats and dogs running around Sandrock, adopt them, and send them out on dispatches but this takes longer.

6. Assembly Handbook

If you hover over items in the assembly handbook, it gives you more in-depth information about that item and how to obtain that said item. This is helpful when you need to know if you need to purchase the item at a store.

7. Leaving Ruins

I seriously had trouble getting out of the ruins one day. I tried going through the door, reloaded a save, and eventually remembered that I could go to the map and press y to get out of the ruins. If only I had paid attention to the game when it told me I could press and hold the LB button to bring up the option to leave the ruins.

8. Yakmel Stations

Unlike My Time at Portia, the taxis, or should I say Yamkel Stations, are available right off the bat. You don’t need to wait until a certain mission is done. However, it costs gols to use them.

9. Making Money in My Time at Sandrock

Also, unlike My Time at Portia, fishing is not the way to go to make money in Sandrock. Commissions are the best way to make money in this game. To beef up the money from the commissions, run an ad in the newspaper for your workshop every week and become friends with Yan. Yes, he is annoying but his friendship will earn you more money for each commission. Besides, winning a sparring match against him is hilarious to watch.
